Your parents weren't home for the weekend
so you invited me over.
While Mary hung out with your brother,
I stayed home with you
and we watched 'friends' for about half an hour.
But then I remember we got pretty tired
and went to bed,
and all of a sudden all that tiredness disappeared
and gave place to a late night conversation
around 2 a.m.
And it was good.
We stood by each other staring at the ceiling
while the moon lit your room creating weird shadows.
They scared me, which made you laugh.
You said, "sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and look at the tv screen,
and it almost seems like there's someone watching me"
And it was good.
You asked me to look at the tv screen.
I wouldn't do it. Instead, I got closer to you
because I was beginning to imagine things that were not there...
and you would only laugh.
But it was good.
