Affairs of Plain Living (I,II,III)

Brother Hawk
Act I
Every night when I lay down my head and close my eyes,
all I can think of is how when I wake up I'll spend my day giving it up.
That's how I know I'm not where I belong.
One day I'll be where I belong.
Act II
When it gets cold outside I wanna smell woodsmoke and watch the sunrise.
But instead my alarm opens my eyes. I put on my work clothes and kiss you goodbye.
But I always know just where to hide
from my cold city life.
Nights like this when I'm all alone, I open my window so I can feel the cold.
Feel it cover my skin and seep to my bones.
'Cause if I can't be home I don't wanna be warm.
But I always know just where to hide
from my cold city life.
Act III
Well I know that it's just a matter of time 'til all the hours of my life are only mine.
