All My Wheels
There's a feeling I get when I look back on those days. I think I should've known.
Was it a waste of time? That's in the eyes of the one who really, truly beholds beauty and ugliness.
I must confess there aint much left here that is tangible.
And though I never "made it", I'm afraid I wouldn't trade it for something perishable.
All my life I've been a rolling stone and all my wheels they keep-a-rollin on.
It sure as hell aint easy and if the old man could see me now, he'd shake his head.
It's only who you know. Didn't you tell me so? You've never got too many friends.
Let's get some money saved, set aside for the grave while slaving for the daily bread.
From my point of view, I've gotta tell the truth. I'm square if fifty-two is dead.
