‘NEATHE THE STREETLIGHTS

Gigi
I find I’m riding, rinding, riding past your house
At least a dozen times every day
Hoping to catch you mowing the lawn or taking the trash out
But when I pass by tumbleweeds are always blowing my way
You’re my baby even though I hardly show it
And I’ve stopped wondering if you’ll ever see
But I don’t mind for I know I’m easy to miss
If you only knew the rusting in the shrubs was me
Outside at night, dreaming of holding you tight
‘Neathe the streetlights
It was me, outside at night, dreaming of holding you tight
‘Neathe the streetlights
I’m gonna try to make you mine forever
Or at least get you to remember my name
The last time I saw you, I heard “Glory, Glory Hallelujah”
And I pray someday you’ll notice me and hear the same
