Another Jersey Night
Willis
Can't we just move on
from the past we've settled on
years ago with all the nameless
days we gave and held and wasted?
Biting through our tongues,
held behind the lips we've hung
outside the windows as the cars passed
every sign saying "Last Exit Here?"
Another year gone by,
another chance we've thrown away
when we've made the same mistakes.
Another wasted night
of questions left to hang unanswered,
in diners full of sluts and vagrants.
Another boring day,
another Jersey night.
Its such a waste of time,
all the days we had and lost again
with the ones who never were our friends.
The time has passed away
in repetition of the boring
lives we've lived in eastern borders.
Another boring day
another Jersey night.
So blame it all on life,
that where we live makes who we are
and all the shit just makes it harder
to bring us back to life,
and motorways and shore disease
will never set our minds at ease.
So we'll take our time
and leave...
Another jersey night,
and we'll never get to sleep.
