My wife was sick, so I prayed

But You decided to take her away

Or You weren't there at all

Was I fool who was talking to a wall

While she lay there waiting for death?

Uttering praise in her dying breath

She was faithful"“now I'm faithless

You should have taken me in her place

I broke the silence of my broken heart with a question

"Is there a reason?"

I don't recall falling asleep

Last night was the anniversary

I was at work"“it's all that I have

To keep from going crazy in this empty house

Then a light came in the form of a man

I hit the floor and I lifted my hands

Then it told me the Lord will come soon

To eat the Passover in my extra room

"Is there a reason?"

Are You really there?

Have I dreamed all of this up?
