Blame All My Troubles On the Moon
Caroline Doctorow
I want to get to my room
The elevator is slow
And the bells in the church are ringing
out of tune
What did you do
to make me miss you so
I guess I'll drink my way through this
Northern afternoon
Nobody wants to be a slave
I feel the soft touch of my chains
So I'll stay right here and wait for the
phone to ring
Stay right here not do much of anything
I'll curse the sky with brand new words
And blame all my troubles on the moon
The windows have all melted away
And the colors from the sunset hurt my eyes
I've waited so long
for the end of the day
But the evening brings me no surprise
How could these songs take me so far
When I just want to be right where you are
