Calm
Richmond Fontaine
I can't calm down and it's been years
And Nevada and the casino's
Don't hold me like they once could
And barely my girlfriend with her
Quiet laugh and strong will
It seems like only bars
Where it must be dark and the music must be slow
It's just the uncertainty of time
And the claustrophobic air
Surround myself in pills but that wouldn't really be me at all
So sometimes late at night I will walk around
And for a moment I'll find certainty and for
A little while I'll feel complete
But then I'll feel it go and then I'll blame anything I know
But I'm not trying to knock anything around
I'm just trying to calm down
I'm not trying to push anyone down
I'm just trying to calm down
