Cold Dirt
Atlas Losing Grip
I once wished the earth beneath my feet would crumble
Open up and swallow me in one
Embrace me in its cold dirt six feet under
Steal the air and warmth of the sun
For I have pondered long and hard and reconsidered,
to never know again the taste of joy or lust
To never feel the pain of life so sweet and bitter
To never feel the hurt of a love or betrayed love trust
And who can blame me for wanting and end,
to all this hurting that never seems to mend?
But I know now that all of this goes hand in hand,
however strange it might seem, now ain't life grand?
Now ain't life grand?
Ain't life grand?
Ain't life grand?
