All the kids I knew when I was a kid all have kids now of their own
And whenever I bump into them they look so tired and old
And I feel sorry for them because they do not have a dream
And I wish I could give them one of mine 'cause I've got more than I need
And I still feel the same that I did when I was a kid
And now they don't understand me and I don't know what happened to them
And all the kids I knew when I was 19 caught up and passed by me
They started bands and ended them and gave up on the scene
And all the kids I knew when I was 22 now all sit around a drink
But they used to do the greatest things and they meant so much to me
