i was staring at the fenways lights, some bum came up and asked if i was alright. i didnt know what to say.
i told him "if i could be with her, id throw away the goddamn world," bought him a beer and went back home.
hell, maybe ive seen darker days, and they say shit works in mysterious ways, but that don't beat the way i feel.
im rubbing every lamp in sight hoping that one of them just might give me a reason to go home.
i thought about her cigarettes, and all the stupid things she said, and the way she made me feel.
and like the static on my TV and all that crap on channel 23, without her, whats the point?
there is nothing i can say to you tonight, and there is nothing you can say to me to make me feel alright.
