Goodbye Jane

Ryan Horne
As I lie here in this bed, that's been my home for 13 years,
I sit to watch my husband Henry fall asleep,
and never has a man loved me fearlessly indeed,
then the one that lie's beside me here tonight
my older son came home to watch me lie in my disease,
oh how I wish that I could watch him grow,
and my younger son still lives with me and he sits here at my feet,
oh I love my children, please let them know
CHORUS
what a life, what a life, God has given to me,
take my life and know that I believed
I've closed my eyes a million times to pray for certain things,
but you know, praying for myself is just not for me,
and I've gazed out of my window pane and I've seen my Father's wings,
so relax with me and know that I'm not weak,
slowly I will close my eyes and I will say goodbye,
oh but Henry, my sweet Henry, not for long,
and maybe my own children will come to realize,
that the God we love has only brought me home,
CHORUS
BRIDGE/VERSE
and as the evening comes, they find that I do not wake,
tell them where I've gone and where I'll be,
I am just a woman who has learned from my mistakes,
oh but know can you here the angels as they start to sing,
HALLELLUIA!!! (4x)
CHORUS
