In The Grass

Mary Timony
Wood in the grass where Jesus lay.
Were they the shepherds of the day?
I was on the bus trying to get off,
jamming to the ??? boys when I was lost.
Once I was lost, but I never was found.
A dying bus driver drives me around.
I don't understand what my ??? could see
Couldn't see the enemy.
Living in the grass where Jesus lay
the biggest mystery today.
A sound sixteen down from middle C
that rings through the oceans softly.
Once I came home to a bag of bones,
a pile of trash, and a plastic phone.
Throw your bones out to sea.
Watch them sink so silently.
Even I know the fiery place you can go.
Even I know the fiery place you can go.
