Indiana Jones
In the Face of War
This is an open letter to myself
To remind me of who I've been and who I am
And that I don't know much of anything
But another day is another chance to try
I've been asking the question which came first
Those kind of thoughts have driven me mad
I've been gone for far too long
Too long for me to understand
I've been a captain with no crew
Lost long ago to mutiny
I've been steering with no map
No compasses will guide me
I've been at the helm with blind intention
My pride keeps this sinking ship afloat
I've been casting my nets into the sea
Trying to catch the leviathan
Directed by whims of the wind
There's no one to blame but myself
I've stepped on dry land with no friends
There's no one to blame but myself
I've forced myself to my wit's end
There's no one to blame
I'm empty of excuses
Because I'm full of disappointment
But another day is another chance to try
