Jaded
Pauline Taylor
There's a man with a will.
He shouts louder than thunder.
Gets what he wants.
There is calm.
He is kind he is violent.
A carer, a killer.
Can hold a young life in his arms.
Now I shout when I'm angry,
eat when I'm hungry
and follow the way of my heart.
My life may be easy,
that's just the way it is.
But if you ask me how I feel,
well I say jaded.
There's a girl with a wish.
To be stronger and able
to move from the side of the road.
Her father took pity
'cause the girl was not too pretty.
But her will was much harder than stone.
So she reached for the sunshine
no worries in her way.
But her surface is slowly crumbling.
She will stand there and greet you
with a smile upon her face.
But if you ask her how she feels
well she'll say jaded.
I can sleep at night.
Hold my lover tight.
Until the morning comes.
But the darkness of my eyes
shows that I'm telling a lie.
I'm jaded inside
