Looking out through painted glass
All my love has been attached
To this picture of the world
On the wall its colours furled
I make friends with those outside
I see the truth within their eyes
How am I to tell them so?
Tell them that I live alone
Passing pictures through the wall
And little notes with left hand scrawl
I don't make promises no more
