The wall has apparently been scaled
There's strong suspicion I have recently been tailed
Indications are I could be easily nailed
My defenses are down
Alarms have been unusually quiet
Red flag so up, someone seems to untie it
All's status quo on the surface, but I don't buy it

I thought for sure I was still locked up tight
But someone there just out of sight
Is making headway. .a little pinprick of light
Tells me my defenses are down
The moat has repeatedly been crossed
Gate's hanging open, the padlock's been tossed
All semblance of control appears to be lost

I wake up alone, I go to bed alone
I'm a party of one, it's quite well-known
So what's this tug on my heart, this tingle to the bone
