Never-Ending Drive
To Tell The Tale
I opened my eyes this morning
And I didn't recognize this place.
I fell back in the sand
And gazed up at the clouds in the sky.
From such heights my hopes drop,
And such sights make tears fall
From these eyes now lifeless
There's nothing else to make my head stop spinning
You won't be here to hold me still.
Now I'm left with just a memory
Of better times when it felt so right.
I can briefly recall this never-ending drive,
But perfect no longer escapes my tongue.
Hands so cold, they've gone pale white;
I look away and I can't be saved.
From such heights my hopes drop,
And such sights make tears fall
From these eyes now lifeless
There's nothing else to make my head stop spinning
You wont be here to hold me still,
And I'll just start sinking
Because only you can keep me from myself.
Left to drown; I open my mouth for air
It fills my lungs, and my body is shivering.
Left to drown; I open my eyes and see
There's nowhere left to go.
Goodnight my love,
And I will beg tomorrow to never come
"˜Cause I could not bear to
See you with anyone but me
Can we turn back this clock?
