oh metal fan
so generally electric
buzzing like a wasp with chronic asthma
nestled amongst
a pile of useless papers
accompanied by my miniature LCD TV on which a
show is very quietly
making the room
a comfortable
spot to sit and lie atop my messy bed
and dream of something cold
like ice and ice cream
and swimming pools and slushies
and thunderstorms with lightning bolts and clouds and rain and thunder
oh metal fan
constructed so very long ago
and puffing like a train to make the room a better place you know you
aren't very useful
for banishing the heat
but you scare away the roaches and blow breezes on my feet
