Oh, Common Life

Fireworks
Oh, common life has somehow sunk its teeth into me.
So, I suck the venom out of my fingers until they bleed.
Let's drive down the street of houses we'll never live in
and run through their yards like children we'll never have
in the yards they'll never play in.
If I slipped, I still see our selves
dreaming of searching for ghosts.
By our own glory,
but cough it up like our fire's smoke.
Now, we're coughing up our fire's smoke.
Oh, common life.
