Part of the Problem
Wendy McNeill
I wasn't surprised when you burst
Through the door crying
For days your eyes were swelling
You've got so many things on your mind
I want to help
But I know that I am part of the problem
A need like yours is not so hard to understand
For most mankind
You need to keep your armour shined
With other people's praising spit
But sometimes that spit has acid in it
And I know that that's part of the problem
As you give and give and give
And don't get back
You give in
And I know that that's part of the problem
There are so many parts to the problem
Can I stroke your temple
Will you lay it in my lap
Can I kiss your tears away
Can I rub the knots from your back
Cause I know that that's part of the problem
And although I am part of the problem
There is one more thing I want to say
In the hopes of making you feel better
Will you write to the raindrops
Will you play with the animals
Cause they don't have an opinion
But they have so much to say
Will you write to the raindrops
Will you play with the animals
Cause they don't have an opinion
But they have so much to say
They'll give and give and give
Until you can give to yourself
