Purple Sunless Sky
I am a purple sunless sky,
the bruised and bright New Jersey night
trapped in a sad eternal light,
alone
but with everybody watching.
And if you see me out tonight
don't bother asking how I'm doing
because I'll just smile and say I'm alright.
Well, I've found talking about sadness just brings sadness
and I wouldn't want to bring somebody down.
So just let me be to shake this thing away somehow
and I'll be back here with a smile
telling stories of the towns and music
laughing with my friends again,
that simple,
perfect
sound.
