My life, my definition, I move with a different vision
Here's my petition
Wisdom, wealth, virtue that's the main mission
Don't feed, teach everyone to start fishing
Stop wishing, waiting for them handouts
Or trying to take a man's food, what's your plan about
Don't build your house on sandy foundations
I felt the temptations but I found patience
Avoided altercations, kept my focus on the grind
Not for money but to get a better mind
See over time, I realized the choice was good
A lot of things that are said, gets misunderstood
There's too much ego, everybody wants to be a hero
But it's like they have no love for people
Obama says change but it's long overdue
So don't wait for him the change starts with you

I've got no time for the hype man I'm grown

Self reliance is the best alliance
Take the time and analyze that success is a science
That relies on the compliance of certain rules
So exclude certain dudes, from certain moves
As your certain to lose if you choose to be too kind
Rely on instincts whenever you're in two minds
You see in due time, they will get their head straight
And if they don't well be glad you lost that dead weight
They say life is short so make every second count
That's why every time I drop, there's another ounce
Of improvement, I'm not about losing
I drop, get back up, shake it off and keep it moving
Some people like talking from the sidelines
They cuss you when you're losing but when you win want a sideline
But not on my time, as hard as I grind

Your grandparents and your friends from school and college
Your boss at work and the heroes to whom you pay homage
