Same Old Place
Kevin Hearn
There's a cabin on a hill
Near the town where time stands still
Ashes from an old camp fire
And the door locked from inside
At the end of the road by the lake
We opened up the gate
While lifting the rusty chain
I thought "how strange, to be here again"
I get the feeling now that I'm here
This wasn't such a good idea
I thought of this as a getaway
But it's just the same old place
There's a heart that is locked up tight
In a chest kept out of sight
Without love, without light
Guarded by fear day and night
There is no way that I could pretend
That I think of you as a friend
This was the corner that I was in
When I decided to paint this room again
I get the feeling now that I'm here
This wasn't such a good idea
I thought of this as a getaway
But it's just the same old place
It's just the same old place
It's just the same old place
Haunted by the ghost of yourself
Take a look up on the shelf
Maybe one of these books will tell
How you break out of a prison you build yourself
I get the feeling now that I'm here
This wasn't such a good idea
I thought of this as a getaway
But it's just the same old place
It's just the same old place
It's just the same old place
