Sleepsick
Dinosaur Bones
When the phone call came,
It struck me like a tidal wave
Off of this hardwood floor
And into the bed I made.
But then my eyes rolled back,
Looking for a place to go.
Fighting off a heart attack;
Fever like I can't control.
Sleeping all day,
Hiding from the light outside.
Come waste the day with me.
Wait for the night.
Then time stood still;
Thought about the life I've had
And all the faces I should know,
And all the love that I should have.
