St. James Walk
The Clientele
On St.James walk today,
past the Thames,
The grey (???) I saw (??)
And the faces were the same
though the (??) remains
(??)
In a window where the cranes,
see the dusk that still remains,
split the evening sky.
I'm calling out your name,
though I know no answer (plays?)
than the word goodbye.
All the air is bright and clear,
and the night is almost here,
I can see your face clearly.
And the people pass me by,
with the sunlight in their eyes
and the (??)
but your face filled up the night,
in the lovely evening light,
like the stars that rose.
