Tall Poppy
I've always tried to do my best
Guess I aimed a little higher than the rest
Always got knocked down
I'm merely trying to achieve
I never thought the idea was all that naive
To the sheep it seems to be
I know you'd like to cut me down to size
So go on keep spreading those lies
Everyone has to have someone they despise
Might as well be me, the tall poppy
I seem to stand out from the crowd
Shouldn't smile too much or act to proud
A sign of weakness so it seems
You hanging out for me to lose
Saying that I'm just too big for my boots
Well actually they fit just fine
