The Anchor Saw
Ryan Viscito
you looked at me and said
in that voice you always say things in
there's nothing to cry for
so i looked at you and said, not anymore
you looked at me and said in that voice you always say things in
that i was wrong
well i dont have a problem with being wrong, i do it all the time
but dont tell me that im wrong when im fine. and im just fine.
i was parking in the driveway when you pulled up next to me
and i said, where are you going, you could go far as can be
you know why, but no matter what
don't go home
when i first met you, i was horrified
that somehow i felt glorified but older
had i been overacheiving the oldest things i did?
not when i did them for me
open up your eyes. you cant see anything
if you keep squinting the way you're squinting
you cant see anything when you are blinded by the anchor saw
and all the buildings rise, calling gold and silver horses
under you
and under me..
