The Stars over Your House
Bob Schneider
I heard something in the shadows of the words that were spoken in the middle of the night that our hearts got broken.
I hadn't felt it before outside the sea in the sky above, outside of me.
But the way the stars over your house shine,
makes me think that everything is gonna be just fine.
And the way that true love's blind it can't be reasoned with,
I'm gonna take that as a good sign, good sign
Looking out into the new day dawn, I couldn't see nothing but trouble. Like the light from the north star, so bright and so far away.
Just like the light that shines in your eyes when we're dancing in the dark at the end of the day
And the way the stars over your house shine, makes me think that everything is gonna be just fine.
And the way that true love's blind it can't be reasoned with, I'm gonna take that as a good sign, good sign
And we wound up talking.
I ended up walking you to your house.
I don't remember what we talked about but it seemed to me at the time I liked the words that were coming out your mouth.
When I saw you with your red lips singing that song they were playing on the night that I met ya, I knew right then and there: I'd never forget ya
And the way the stars over your house shine, makes me think that everything is gonna be just fine.
And the way that true love's blind it can't be reasoned with, I'm gonna take that as a good sign, good sign
