So few remaining, rainwater rats
Fewer could tell you
what the nickname meant
They still live and die near
An aging railway line
Blessed once an hour by it's passing
When the siren broke silence
Heralding mid day
I'd rant and curse the awakening
I was tinder sparked and smoking
the air raid wasn't helping
My head was in the clouds
And My wheels were spinning
