To A Bear
Mark Gunnery
Wake up in the morning to the sound of you breathing
I know I don't want to wake you up, so I leave you sleeping
I watch your lips moving and I wonder what you're dreaming
I love you in the morning before you've had any caffeine
when you're still half asleep and you're something in between
a human and a bear so, feel free to bite me
I spend all day on the roof, you spend all day with the kid
we traded in our time for the paper we need to live
I'll have dinner ready when you get home; stir fry and a salad
I love you in the evening when our muscles are sore
and we massage each other by candle light on the floor
we look into each other's eyes like, we've never seen them before
I love you in the evening when our muscles are sore
and we massage each other by candle light on the floor
winter's coming on and we'll keep each other warm
