Turn Down the Offer
The Heligoats
I've read all the books
I've done all I could
When I really looked
That was all it took
I worked my fingers to the bone
Pushing paper like a pro
When I let everything go
Oh, that's when I really came home
I found that there was so much left to learn to think to spend another second seemed to sink
Sink me a little further into what has already been discovered
And loosing only proved to be the loss that others only had when they were lost for words
When they were looking to define the sight of seeing me turn down the offer
I've gotten used to this I guess
Being overwhelmed, under-loved, under-fed
Taking all you can give me
And some how making up the rest
But it's over
It's no secret
That was it
There is nothing left
There once was love and happiness
But now there is just a mess
Oh well
I guess it was too much left to learn that to think to spend another second seemed to sink
Sink me into a little further into what has already been discovered
And loosing only proved to be the loss that others had when they were lost for words
When they were looking to define to sight of seeing me
Turn down the offer.
