We are the One to Blame
Jon Swift
I told your sister in faith that I love you.
It's too late, too long ago,
too many oceans roaring below again.
I know we're the one to blame.
I told your sister in song that I loved you.
Everything is still when you decide to hide,
too many people coming up from behind us then.
I know we're the one to blame.
I need the river to get up and go.
Its tributaries no longer flow.
There's just so many things to find
on all mountain sides.
I'm sitting out on the stump
trying hard to become a monk.
Waiting to see if the day will break,
but I've never seen anything so far away.
There's something out on the horizon brewing,
and I don't know exactly what I'm doing again.
I know we're the one to blame.
I told your sister in blood that I loved you.
We spoke until deep in the night.
I found out something I just might know again.
I know we're the one to blame.
