the waters high again this year
it rose up above the dock again
and swallowed up the yard
remember how we walked out 100 yards
and it never got any more than waist deep?
front door
wouldnt open from inside
(no matter how we tried)
snowed in
it all drifted up outside
if it wasnt 8 feet high
then it wasnt an inch
but last year we saw clear ground
in january.

i miss all those bad memories
and hate how this feels so much
like the wrong ending
