When Will My Life Begin?
7 am the usual morning lineup, start on the chores
and sweep till the floors all clean, polish and wax do
laundry and mop and shine up, sweep again and by
then its like 7:15,
so ill read a book or maybe 2 or 3 ill add a few more
paintings to my gallery guitar and knit and cook and
basically just wondering, when will my life begin?
Then after lunch its puzzles and darts and baking,
paper mache, bit of ballet and chess, pottery and
ventriloquy candle making then ill stretch maybe
sketch take a climb sew a dress, then ill re-read the
books if i have time to spare,
ill paint the walls some more I'm sure there's room
some where, and the ill brush and brush and brush
my hair stuck in the same place ive always been and
keep wondering and wondering and wondering,
when will my life begin?
Tomorrow night, lights will appear just like they do
on my birthday each year, what is it like out there
where they glow?, now that im older mother might
just let me go......
