Boy Howdy
Shai Erlichman
I remember lying in bed with my best friend
After watching a movie concerning the end
Of a life two lovers fashioned, kissing themselves newer
Til the cowboy fell off his bike and hit his head
When he slept on cement
Did you notice how I kept my whole body stiff as death
Like the summer rain does kittens
Shivering underneath a bench?
And that night I slept though Sam took the covers
I remember keeping a drawer full of girls naked
Covered up by blueprints of the fountains I built
And every time I pulled down the shade to a song adjourned
I'd creep the words, I'd creep the words I learned
Four walls replaced my legs
Keep the home inside my head
I don't want to see my friends alone in their summer stains
Dead end drain
It's a built up sad feeling
An arrangement to pick up all the summers' creepy crawler crumbs off the floor
Man I just could not believe it
