Since You Died
The Dismemberment Plan
People ask how I've been doin since I lost you.
I say "I'm fine."
I just say that I still feel like, oh, you're with me.
They smile, I smile.
They don't know what I've got waitin' when I get home.
It's such a shame...
And every time I hear the doorbell ring itself, I get so excited, yeah!
I feel numb as I sprawl my body across my bed.
The shades are closed.
Half-asleep and half-scared to death, you know I hate ghosts.
Except... for you!
And as I feel invisible fingers runnin' up and down my spine,
I call your name.
And every time I see the lights turning on and off, I can feel the blood rush to my skin.
People ask how I've been doin' since I lost you.
I say "I'm fine."
And as a matter of fact, yeah, we get along better since you died.
I smile, they don't.
They don't know what I've got waitin' when I get home.
It is such a shame.
And every time an invisible mouth breathes in my ear, I can hardly keep my hands off myself!
