Expecting the road to disappear any minute now
I'll wander aimlessly, with patience wearing thing
And all that was done will be all in vain
Afraid of failure as the spotlight grows
Stretching beyond my line of sight
Vision dulls and my ears ring numb
And then you had to storm into this night
And so, like the fallen tyrant, I'll be the one who waves the white
Then I'll step out of this
To discover the truth you chose to hide
I'll be the one left screaming out in silence
Begin to feel the tensions mounting all around
With much to prove and miles to go before our reward
And the walls of our own design will fall
Should we have ended this sooner
Contemplating on what could've been more revealing
Of what's been the greater good
