Thorn In My Saddle
Richard Clapton
When I look up in to the darkness
With the night sky over me,
I can feel a cold wind blowing,
From out across the sea
I've got the freeway road confusion
I was bound to be confined
To be lost and disillusioned
By these ideas in my mind
I got a thorn in my saddle
Now if love don't prove the answer
Gonna find myself locked in
Just a prisoner of darkness
My light threatened by the wind
Mama holds me in the half light
With her reassuring smile
And she gives me all the strength I need
For this journey into night
