Thoughts of a Dog

Thoughts of a dog
A dog dream
Someone barking
And swearing at me
And being kicked out
Of the way of an open doorway
Sometimes while walking together with someone I yearn
But I've learned to dismiss my longing
The sweeping cars I might chase
To a celebrated and mysterious open space
It is easier to be crushed in an instant
Than grinded slowly in this dark mouth
I say, but not aloud
I am a dog
And this dog dream is inebriated
Four-legged steam
Besides, I have been to Houston on a leash
When all the lights that are flickering are out of reach.
