I Should Begin
Scott Liss & the Sixty-Six
I can't stay away for good
but one of these days I'm gonna pay,
I know I should
begin listening.
Here I swear that there were times
things were well and I felt fine,
but I lost sight in the fight.
And the words, they will change;
passing phrases rearranged
until a silhouette is all we've left.
But you don't tell me what to do
walk away or follow you
I'll call this whole thing
whole thing through.
But people speak in bottled phrases
wearing ghosts upon their faces
and it shows.
And they're always out to get you
and if they do they'll never let you go,
no.
And the best advice I'd give
is that your life is meant to live
without a question or a doubt within.
A hypocrite, well, I may be,
but I'm a man who honestly can recognize what it implies and how to deal
when people speak in bottled phrases
wearing ghosts upon their faces
and it shows.
And they're always out to get you
and if they do they'll never let you go,
no.
All that I say, not one word worth believing.
All that I say, not one word worth repeating.
But people speak in bottled phrases
wearing ghosts upon their faces
and it shows.
And they're always out to get you
and if they do they'll never let you go,
no.
I can't stay away for good
but one of these days I'm gonna pay,
I know I should.
