Hot and sticky summer with everybody drinking beer by the river
And across the fire light somehow I caught her eye

All that's in the past now I got married and I settled down
And my wild years have all been stowed away
But whenever I hear some tires squeal I check to see who's behind the wheel
I always expect I'll see her pretty face
