Return The Favor
In the Face of War
do i sound like a broken record when i always talk about my friends
because i'd like to think that i could write volumes and volumes on them
yet those books' bindings will fall apart
but the stories will be held together in our hearts
stories of the past, who we were and what we've done
plans for the future, who we'll be and what will come
because i know that this is just the beginning
but i've already lived an awesome life
and it's not to say heartaches haven't come my way
it's that i've had people there for me, people who've cared for me
and to them i owe so much more than i could ever give
i wouldn't be who i am
without these people here
and say what you will
but i won't let them down
i'll do whatever it takes to return the favor
to have open arms and an open heart
to be selfless for a moment when someone else needs me to be there for them when they can't make it on their own
to hold them in one piece, when they are falling apart
and we'll put each other back together again
