Boxcars
Brock Zeman
I still see her around every now and then
She asks about my songs, and I ask about her new boyfriend
She says he's doing fine and that they're happy together
And as she walks away she takes my heart with her
Thoughts of her are like boxcars on a train in my mind
That runs as fast as lightning and always runs on time
I ride the rails like a hobo on down the line
To a time when I was hers and she was mine
You know it ain't so bad, life has been pretty good to me
It ain't the cookie cutter kind, it's kinda like a movie
Where the bad guy gets away and the tires let out a squeal
And the woman of your dreams is behind the wheel
Sometimes I pour a drink and sit back and dream
I watch the times we had, like on a movie screen
I watch them though and through from the bottom to the top
To the part where she says good-bye then I just shut it off.
