Past Life Reverie
Spirit and Dust
Early in the morning when the sunlight makes a day
And the birds on their wires sing, well I say
It's a beautiful world, it is green it is blue
It's the colour of diamonds rough and unhewn
Its got mountains and valleys and trees and the rain
Washes away what need not remain
Later in the sunshine of a noon time soliliquay
As the rights of a passage come down upon me
It's as strange as a feeling when death comes to say
That the ones whom you love must be on their way
And I can't for the life of me quite understand
What I'm feeling or where I stand
Earlier in the evening of a past life reverie
Stands an answer to the future and what it holds for me
Longer should I stand though within a certain limbo
As what be will always be so much better than that
I can see in the mountains and valleys and rains
That wash away life to leave us remains
Of a life not quite lived still I feel it's a shame
That some people really need a little rain.
