Where You Leave Your Car
Brock Zeman
I was just driving around town nothing to do nowhere to go
I was smoking cigarettes, listening to the radio
I never wake up early I always stay out late
It's nice to see the sun on the rise for a change
It ain't the right kinda living this life I'm used to
"Man, I love this song," I say, as I give her some juice
Just cruising around town and I get a pain in my heart
Outside my buddy's house when I see your car
It ain't the wine I can't resist
It's temptation that I've got the problem with
But temptation hasn't caused me much pain not so far
Not like the places where you leave your car
I called your house last night your house last night your Mama said you weren't in
You'd gone to the movies with one of your friends
And her voice kinda cracked when she said, "so long"
I had an empty feeling as I hung up the phone
It's a hard pill to swallow it's a tough bite to chew
Just driving round knowing that you've been untrue
If I was to bite my tongue I'm scared I'd take it right off
Can't help wishing I never got in the car at all
Guess I'm lying through my teeth I had my suspicions
That's why I couldn't sleep, just laid there tossing and turning
I ain't ever liked the sunrise, I'd rather the moon
Just driving around to see if my suspicions were true
