Black and White Movies

Daniel Johns
V1/ The nuclear age it's finally here Saturday footy and cans full of
beer, you come cold on muscle and bustle and booze racing mindlessly to
the next news.
chorus
and people they come and people they go in black and white movies where
times were slow, and things never changed and people yo knew, grew up
lived and died never out of your view.
and black and white movies they never change they're sad and they're
happy and we're just the same, good and bad and evil and right are
words that mean whatever you like.
V2/ And grandmothers grieve the darling young lives, weaned on tv's
violence and lies...chasing illusions they have been sold discovering
all that glitters ain't gold.
chorus
V3/ And Jesus and Elvis and Napoleon Hill, the Qumrans are lost in the
advertising bill. We ran out of time just to think and to live and we
let it all run out like sand through a sieve.
