Everywhere

Daniel Johns
V1/ My mother's name was Mary, my daddy's name was Cliff and I grew up out of harm down the North West Arm and out of the city mist. My friends were the leaves and the flowers and the bees in the freshening ocean air, after school I'd float in my daddy's ol' boat exploring everywhere.
chorus...Everywhere, everywhere, I knew every tree Gymea to the sea, and the salt spray in my hair, green shady coves where nobody goes you could find me there.
V2/ Mum and dad gave life and laughter, and I miss them now I fly on planes across the country tryin' to make 'em proud, I can still recall the fun of it all, of life without a care and I think of the time on that river o' mine exploring everywhere...to chorus
bridge Everywhere, everywhere, blue summer sky, feelin' so high, you know you can do whatever you try, and you can.
V3/ The winter's creepin' in on us and the light is gettin' thin, and I spent my day just workin' away gettin' my harvest in, and this room is a tomb on the rumblin' gloom of a city in its haze, so far from the land of the simmerin' sand and the glistening ocean waves...to chorus.
