Gardens of the Sun

Daniel Johns
A glinting summer sea swept the shore
By the harbour once when we were together
And my love I couldn't hide
Glancing at you to my side
By crystal waters rippling a soft still sun
La la la
The autumn came in swirling winds
That swayed the brown leaves on the trees
And whispered gently to me
Of your presence flowing through me
Every footstep nearer to your lips I'd be
La la la
On some winter nights inside
We'd snuggle by the fire in its light
And have coffee and cake
Till I'd kiss you at the gate
In silent shadows hiding from the window view.
Through the living city streets I stroll
In the springtime now
And think of the times gone by
I still see your trees the same
And I feel them call my name
But nobody there would remember it now
Nobody there would remember it now.
